As we talk more about acknowledging and understanding unseen differences, it is also important to look beyond definitions to understand experiences. Brian Streig, CPA is Tax Director at Calhoun, Thomson + Matza, LLP, in Austin, Texas. In an earlier webinar titled "The LGBTQ+ Perspective," Brian joined us to talk about his experiences as a gay man working in public accounting.
In this webinar, we will take a look back at his journey of revealing his identity as his career progressed.
There are more invisible dimensions of identity than visible, each with different challenges, opportunities, stereotypes, and implications. Navigating the workplace can feel like a balancing act in the face of opposing views, unconscious bias, and unwritten rules around diversity and difference. In learning about Brian's experience, we hope to provide more insight into the complexities some feel in navigating the workplace, particularly those with unfamiliar, controversial, or invisible differences. We hope you can join the conversation!
